  PROGRAM NOTES   AUDIO CLIPS

As zany as the Marx Brothers, as clever as Houdini, this sextet of adept acrobats converts bodies into interlocking and interchangeable parts, erecting structures on stage that are closer to sculpture than dance.

——Newsweek

Pilobolus (crystallinus) is a sun-loving fungus that grows in pastures. It is also a highly unusual dance company that germinated in the fertile soil of Dartmouth College in 1971. Since its founding, Pilobolus has been a creative collaborative, with three artistic directors and more than twenty-five full and part-time dancers contributing to one of the most popular and varied bodies of work in the history of dance.
