The Alexander String Quartet is a major artistic presence in its home base of San Francisco, but is equally beloved in its second home: the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre. The group returns for its fifteenth consecutive year on the Mondavi Center season.

The quartet performs these programs without intermission, then remains for a Q&A session with the audience.

Framed by the string quartets of Benjamin Britten, whose centennial was celebrated in 2013, this series will explore works that reflect the broader European experience of the war years, as well as the period immediately before and after the war.
